There’s an unpleasant racial subtext to this particular “damsel in distress” image, which links it to previous images like Powers’ The Greek Slave and Delacroix’ Massacre at Chios: white woman menaced by dark hordes.
We usually think of racism applied to non-white people, but WWII propaganda often used similar techniques of depicting Germans and Italians as physically flawed and subhuman.
This etching was created by a woman’s husband as character assassination of her, alleging she was a sadist who preferred her cats to her children. Another use of deviant sexuality as propaganda, this time on a personal scale instead of political.

Judging by the art style, a more modern work. I suspect this isn’t terribly realistic, and slave women serving whites would be dressed to the whites’ idea of modesty (at least while there were white ladies present).
